Accrual of holiday on maternity leave

Hello,

Can you help with this query please on accruing statutory leave whilst on maternity leave

Contractual holiday is more than the statutory entitlement of 5.6 weeks
The organisation would like to allow only statutory holiday to apply when on maternity leave
As this is not written into the contract (that only statutory holiday accrues during maternity leave) please confirm that only if, through consultation this is changed, it can apply.
