Investors in people support in a rapidly growing business

Company Profile:
The business was set up in 1997 originally as a telecommunications systems provider. During the last 2 years the business has experienced significant growth and widened its scope to include on-site maintenance, call management and invoicing, and to offer the network service of Least Cost Routing.

Situation:
With the additional revenue that the Company was making through its increased business remit and the requirement to recruit more employees and to consolidate existing skills it wanted to pursue Investors in People. The primary focus was to improve and standardise its management of people in line with best practice.

Human Resources:
Right Hand HR undertook a detailed brief by interviewing the Managing Director, Financial Director and the management team about the expectations and direction of the company. In addition to this an audit was conducted on existing human resources and training areas to ascertain the gaps and anomalies which would need addressing. Right Hand HR drafted a priority plan of what would be required and pulled together a steering group for the achievement of IIP.

Achievements:
Successfully implemented Investors in People within a 4 month timeframe.
Supported and influenced management thinking in agreeing the company vision and business goals.
Undertook job analysis and accurately scoped out job roles taking account of efficiency, flexibility and job enrichment. Introduced objective standards and KPI’s for different functional roles.
Facilitated the successful roll out of a new performance review system.
Designed, implemented and evaluated a new induction process to include local and generic level aspects including a human resources focus.
Designed and introduced an HR policy implementation process.
Drafted a series of customised employment policies to enable a uniform approach to managing different HR areas.
Overhauled adhoc training evaluation and replaced it with a comprehensive and standardised means of evaluating training at 4 levels.
Provided employment law advice, face to face assistance and management coaching when dealing with employee relations matters.
